Port Coquitlam is named for a Coast Salish term “Kwikwetlam” meaning “red fish up the river”.

Description: The building faces northwest and is a two story red coloured brick and concrete structure. Wide steps ascend to the entrances on the second story of the triangular shaped building. A glass roof covers the entrance atrium. In the interior there is a wide central hallway lined with 11 courtrooms. The building houses the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court. The building is named as the Port Coquitlam Law Courts.
