Vanderhoof is named after Herbert Vanderhoof of Chicago, who was an employee of the Grand Trunk Pacific Development Company, and who laid out the town site.

Description: The building faces west and is a one story white coloured concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the centre of Vanderhoof. The entrance is located at the centre of the west front. The windows are vertical. A wide brown coloured band runs along the flat roof line. The courtroom is located in the south section. The building houses the Provincial Court.
