Dawson Creek is named for Dawson Creek, which was named after George Mercer Dawson who led the surveying team in 1879.

Description: The building faces northeast and is a four story concrete and glass structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the centre of Dawson Creek. The rectangular building has vertical windows and the roof line is flat. On the northeast corner is a one story red coloured brick building with narrow vertical windows which houses the courtrooms. The building houses the Supreme Court and the Provincial Court. The building is named as the Provincial Government Building – Law Courts.
