Thunder Bay District – Nipigon

Nipigon is named for the Ojibwe word “Animbiigoong” meaning “at continuous water” or “at waters that extends” and referred to Lake Nipigon.


Location:  Nipigon is located in the western part of the Province and to the east of Thunder Bay.


District:  Thunder Bay District is named for Thunder Bay at the head of Lake Superior.

Description:  The building faces south and is a three story red coloured brick and concrete structure. . The building is named as the Ontario Government Centre and houses the Ontario Court of Justice and government offices.
