Description: The building faces south and is a nine glass, steel and precast concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Springfield to the south of the courthouse. The south front has a central entrance with a one story concrete breeze way, The vertical windows rise to the top of the building. The roof line is flat. The building is named as the John Q Hammons Building and houses the Court of Appeals – Southern District. In the interior, the Court of Appeals courtroom is located on the west side of the third story. The courtroom has wood paneling and furniture.
