History:  The Supreme Court once occupied a two story room with no gallery on the second floor in the north wing of the Colorado State Capitol which now houses a Hearing Room. The Courtroom was restored in 2019 and appears much as it did in 1908. The floor is entirely carpeted from wall to wall. The one stained glass window is of Chief Justice Robert W. Steele. A deep maroon drape once covered the north wall behind the judicial bench. In 1977, the Court moved into the Supreme Court Building to the southwest of the State Capitol. The building was demolished in 2010 and replaced by the present Supreme Court Building constructed in 2010 to 2013.

See:  The Supreme Court is located in Denver County.
