Cache County

 

Cache County is named for the caches of furs made by the Rocky Mountain Fur Company trappers.

Old County Courthouse – Logan

 

Location:  181 North Main Street / West 200 North Street

Built:  1882 – 1883

Style:  Beaux Arts

Architect:  Truman O Angell Jr.

Contractor:  United Order Manufacturing  and Building Company of Logan Second Ward

 

Description:  The building faces east and is a two story red colored brick structure. The building forms an “H”. The building has a small white wood portico on the east front and an extended portico on the west side. On the center of the roof is a round white cupola with gold colored dome. In 1905, an addition was added on the west side. In 1917, the building was enlarged by two wings at the east front. The building was renovated in 2003 to 2005. The architect was Lanny Herron of Architural Nexus and the contractor was Burton Lumber & Hardware of Logan. The building houses county offices.

Built:  2000 – 2003

Style:  Modern

Architect:  VCBO Architecture of Salt Lake City

Contractor:  Okland Construction of Salt Lake City

 

Description:  The building faces east and is a three story gray colored brick, concrete and glass structure. The north section extends east from the main building. The center section has four vertical thin columns rising to a large overhang at the roof line, with a recessed glass wall behind and above the entrance. The roof line is flat.

 

County Administration Building – Logan

 

 

Location:  179 North Main Street / West 200 North Street

Built:  2002 – 2003

Style:  Modern

Architect:  Christian Larsen

Contractor:  Raymond Construction of Logan

 

Description:  The building faces north and is a three story red colored brick, concrete and glass structure. The roof line is flat. The building faces the old courthouse.
