Manitoba became the 5th Province on July 15, 1870. Winnipeg is the provincial capital.

Highest Point – Baldy Mountain at 831 meters ( 2,727 feet ) is located in the central west in the Dauphin Judicial District
Lowest Point – Hudson Bay ( sea level ) is located in the northeast corner in the Northeren Judicial District ( Thompson )
