Description:  The building faces south and is a three story concrete and glass structure. The roof line is flat. 


Old Courthouse – Sherbrooke



Location:  191 Avenue du Palais / Rue Frontenac

Built:  1904 – 1906

Style:  Beaux Arts

Architect:  Elzear Charest of the Quebec Department of Public Works

Description:  The building faces east and  is a three story grey coloured stone structure. The building is located on a rise with landscaped grounds. The building now serves as the Hotel de Ville.


Old Courthouse – Sherbrooke


Location:  315 Rue William / Rue Winter

Built:  1839 – 1840

Style:  Classical

Architect:  William Footner

Description:  The building faces north and is a two story red coloured brick structure. The building is located on hill.and is located on landscaped grounds. The building served as an arsenal at 315 Rue William. An annex was built on the south side in 1874.


Note:  On the south side of the old courthouse is the old jail along Rue Winter and Rue Cliff.
