Description: The building faces east and is a two story stucco, stone and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Canyon City. The east front has a recessed central entrance trimmed with red colored stone. On the second story is a nine panel window. The roof line is flat. The building houses the County Circuit of the 24th Judicial District, County Court and County Justice Court.

Description: The building faces west and is a one story brick and siding structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Canyon City on the south side of the courthouse. The west front has a recessed central entrance with portico. The roof line is flat.

History: The county was created in 1864 and Canyon City was selected as the county seat. The county met in rented premises until the first courthouse known as Dunker’s Hall was a one story frame structure built in 1869. The courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1870. The second courthouse was a two story frame structure built by William Donaldson, F J Butz and E Stansell in 1885. The third and present courthouse was constructed in 1951 to 1952. The County Criminal Justice Facility was constructed in 1996 to 1997.
