Description: The building faces east and is an eighteen story black coloured metal, granite, glass and concrete structure. The building is located in the city centre adjacent to the Champs de Mars square. The east front rises three stories and has vertical glass panels with vertical metal dividers between. On the west side the concrete tower rises eighteen stories. The roof line is flat. The building houses the Superior Court and the Court of Quebec.

Old Palais de justice – Montreal

Contractor: Augtin Laberge, Pierre Labelle and Michel Bro dit Pomminville

Description: The building faces east and is a five story grey coloured stone and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the city centre and on the north side of the Palais de Justice. The east front has a large portico with six columns rising to a pediment. On the roof is a one story section with large rounded dome. The building is named as the Édifice Lucien-Saulnier. An addition was constructed in 1890 to 1894. The architect was Perrault and Mesnard and the contractor was Charles Beler. An annex was constructed in 1903 to 1905. The architect was Elzear Charest and N A Cantin and the contractor was Alphonse Gratto and Atlan Construction. A further annex was constructed in 1922 to 1923. The architect was L A Amos, Charles Saxe and Ernest Cormier .

Note: The first courthouse was built in 1800 to 1801 by Basile Proulx and Francois Xavier Daveluy. The building was demolished in 1844. The second courthouse was designed by John Wells in 1845.

Description: The building faces southwest and is a five story red coloured brick, steel, glass and concrete structure. The building is located on the west side of the city.
