Kenai is named for the local Dena’ina (Tanaina) word ‘ken’ or ‘kena’, which means ‘flat, meadow, open area with few trees and low ridge’.

Description:  The building faces south and is a two story yellow colored sliding and concrete structure. The building is located in the center of Kenai.
