Description: The building faces south and is a three story red and white colored brick and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Vinita. The first story is faced with white colored brick and the upper stories have red colored brick with horizontal bands of white. There is a large clock in the center of each side of the building. The roof line is flat. The building houses the County District Court of the 12th Judicial District.

Former County Courthouse ( demolished ) – Vinita
Location: 214 West Canadian Avenue / Smith Street
Built: 1920 – 1921
Style: Federal
Architect: Layton, Smith and Forsyth
Contractor: Manhattan Construction Company
Description: The building faced north and was a three story brown colored brick and concrete structure. The building was located on landscaped grounds in the center of Vinita. The first story entrance was framed with white colored stone. A horizontal band run below the second story windows and four vertical pillars run from the second story to the top of the third story. There was a wide stone band below the flat roof line. In the interior, the former courtroom was located on the third story. The architect was Layton, Smith and Forsyth and the contractor was Manhattan Construction Company. The building was demolished in 2018.

History: In 1902, Northern District of the Federal Court was established in Vinita. The county was created in 1907 and Vinita was selected as the county seat. The first courthouse was constructed in 1920 to 1921. The building was demolished in 2018. The second and present courthouse was constructed in 2005 to 2006.
